The Pathological Museum
The Professors of Moscow University established one of the best professional museums in Ukraine in 1902 at ONMU with a unique collection. After the exhibition the ONMU’s museum, macro preparations have been added to the ONMU’s museum, which was given later to Department of Pathological Anatomy of ONMU. Now the ONMU’s museum has more than 2500 unique items that help the in-depth study of the course of pathological anatomy.
The Historical Museum
Historical Museum of Odessa National Medical University was built in the late 80ies of the 20th century, was renovated in 2000 to the 100th anniversary of Odessa National Medical University, ONMU’s museum displays the milestones of the institution from its inception in 1900 to the present. Exhibited in the 4,5 thousand exhibits help students learn the course of the history of medicine.
The Anatomical Museum
The Anatomical Museum of Odessa National Medical University was founded in 1902, after two years the foundation of the university itself. The collection was periodically replenished and now has more than 1000 exhibits, which are housed in 24 specially made oak cabinets. The most unique of them are mummies from Upper Egypt and Sahara, which were brought from archaeological expeditions to the staff of the department before 1917.
In the showcase of the museum, you can see skeletons, parts of bodies and internal organs, skulls, scalps, separate bones, jaws, baby bulls and unborn embryos are shone. All human races are represented here, including many small ones.
